Student insurance covers all Spanish students under the age of 28 for certain contingencies that may occur while studying the following degrees in Spain:
- First Cycle: diploma (three-year undergraduate degree) and technical studies in engineering or architecture
- Second Cycle: licenciatura (four or five-year undergraduate degree) and titles in engineering and architecture
- Third Cycle: doctorate
Students who are citizens of the European Union or of states included in the European Economic Area and, in general, all international students who are legal residents are included in the student insurance under the same conditions as Spanish students, as long as they are studying in Spain and are under 28 years old.
