Types of registration
Ordinary
The entire amount of the academic fees is paid with no exemptions or deductions.
Students are totally exempt from academic fees under the following circumstances:
1. If they come from a "special category" large family.
2. Students who have a State General Budget scholarship.
3. Winners of the extraordinary Baccalaureate Prize (only for first year students).
4. Students who earned a 'first class with distinction' in the overall grade for COU or Baccalaureate (only for first year students).
Students in categories 2, 3 and 4 will have to pay their student insurance and, when necessary, the administrative fee for opening an academic transcript and student identification card.
5. Orphans of deceased civil servants or servicemen killed in the line of duty.
6. Students whose exemption is acknowledged by the university or the Ministry of Education and Science.
7. ULL personnel, their children, spouse or legal partner, for tuition fees in any ULL course in an official degree.
8. Personnel from other Canarian universities, according to the current collective bargaining agreement.
Students are partially exempt from academic fees if they can certify that they are in the following circumstances:
- If they come from "general category" large family they are exempt from 50% of the academic and administrative fees (except for the student insurance).
- Students who earned a first class with distinction in one or more courses the previous academic year will be exempt from tuition fees for the same number of courses in which they earned this distinction. This amount is deducted from the total tuition.
"Special category" large families: families that have five or more children, and families with four children if at least three of them come from a multiple birth or from adoption, permanent guardianship or multiple pre-adoption.
"General category" large families: the rest of families who have three or four children.
