El S M C P es una recomendación, está implantado y será complementado en clase con material propio del docente. Será reforzado con la realidad del inglés marítimo cubriendo carencias comunicativas que no cubre.

La valoración de las competencias y resultados del aprendizaje adquiridos por el alumno, se lleva a cabo en función de las pruebas realizadas, la calidad de los trabajos presentados- si estos se requieren - y a la participación activa (a través de la correcta realización de las prácticas ) a lo largo del periodo, que formará parte de la evaluación continua.
 
-  Los ejercicios practicos / lecturas recomendadas, serán comentados en clase, sin perjuicio del trabajo autonomo del alumno en lo referente a las lecturas recomendadas de cada unidad. Se realizarán ejercicios prácticos de expresión usando radiotelefonos.
-  Se valora la participación en clase y la iniciativa, pero esta no es determinante para superar o no la asignatura. 
-  Se cuenta con un simulador de distintos acentos en inglés marítimo y audios reales para que los alumnos tengan una imagen real de las comunicaciones maritimas.

La evaluación continua consta de las siguientes actividades: 
Pruebas objetivas (exámenes escritos, orales,...). Es necesario alcanzar una nota mínima de 5,0.

El alumnado que no supere la evaluación continua o renuncie a la misma pasará a evaluación alternativa contemplada en las convocatorias oficiales.
