| Formación académica fundamental: | Full Professor in the Department of Didactics and Educational Research at the University of La Laguna (Spain). He holds a Diploma in General Education Teaching (1991), a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy and Educational Sciences (1996), a Bachelor's Degree in Primary Education (2015), a PhD in Philosophy and Educational Sciences (2008), and a PhD in Psychology (2024). He has more than thirty years of experience in teaching, research, and university management. His research interests focus on inclusive education, diversity and inclusion, teacher education, educational psychology, health promotion, well-being, educational innovation, and the application of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence in educational contexts. He carries out extensive editorial activities as an Associate Editor and member of the editorial boards of several high-impact international scientific journals. In addition, he has served as a reviewer for some of the world's most prestigious journals in the fields of education, psychology, social sciences, and health sciences. |

| Breve currículo profesional genérico: | Professional experience began as a Primary Education Teacher at Santo Domingo School (Güímar, Tenerife, Spain), where teaching duties were carried out between 1991 and 1996 across the Early Childhood and Primary Education stages. From 1996 to 2012, professional activity continued within Secondary Education, providing extensive experience in teaching, educational guidance, and school management across different levels of the educational system. Between 2002 and 2012, school-based teaching responsibilities were combined with a part-time appointment as Associate Professor in the Department of Didactics and Educational Research at the University of La Laguna. Since 2012, academic activity has been undertaken on a full-time basis within the same department, where a substantial record of teaching, research, and university management has been consolidated, currently holding the position of Full Professor. Since 2006, teaching collaboration has been maintained with the National University of Distance Education (UNED), delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to the design and development of educational programmes, psychological processes, learning theories, educational intervention, and research methodology. In 2014, academic advisory responsibilities were also undertaken at the International University of La Rioja (UNIR), providing guidance and consultancy in the design, implementation, and evaluation of educational intervention programmes and innovation projects. Academic leadership responsibilities have included the Directorship of the Master’s Degree in Psychopedagogical Intervention at the University of La Laguna and, currently, the Directorship of the Master’s Degree in Teacher Training for Secondary Education, Upper Secondary Education, Vocational Education and Training, and Language Teaching. In addition, various management and governance roles have been undertaken within higher education institutions. | |
| Breve currículo investigador: | Throughout an academic career spanning several decades, participation has taken place in numerous national and international research, development, and innovation (R&D&I) projects, together with the coordination and leadership of a wide range of academic and scientific initiatives. Teaching, research, and knowledge-transfer activities have focused primarily on inclusive education, educational guidance, diversity and special educational support needs, teacher education, the design and evaluation of educational programmes, health education, educational psychology, well-being, and the application of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence in educational contexts. Authorship of numerous scientific publications, supervision of doctoral theses and postgraduate research projects, and active collaboration with national and international research networks form part of this academic trajectory. These contributions have supported the advancement of evidence-based educational practices and the promotion of more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable educational systems. | |
| Líneas de investigación: | Research activity has been continuously developed since 2006, initially focusing on the assessment of academic and professional competences, teaching quality, and learning processes in both school and higher education settings. From 2008 onwards, research interests expanded to include the evaluation of programmes and interventions aimed at promoting intercultural education, educational inclusion, and diversity. Since 2012, research activities have been consolidated around educational and career guidance, psychopedagogical counselling, inclusive education, teacher education, health education, well-being, and the design, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based educational programmes. In recent years, these research lines have been complemented by the study of emerging technologies applied to education, digital competence, learning analytics, and the use of artificial intelligence in teaching, learning, and educational management processes. This work has led to participation in numerous national and international research, development, and innovation (R&D&I) projects, as well as the publication of scientific studies addressing inclusive education, special educational support needs, teacher training, well-being and health promotion, educational leadership, and the sustainable development of educational systems. Research activities are currently carried out within the Department of Didactics and Educational Research at the University of La Laguna, where the DISAE Research Group (Diversity, Inclusion, Health and Education) is led. The group conducts research focused on inclusive education, diversity and equity, health promotion and well-being, educational guidance, teacher education, programme evaluation, and the application of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence in educational contexts. In addition, close collaboration is maintained with multidisciplinary teams and national and international research networks in the fields of education, psychology, health sciences, and educational innovation. I direct the Diversity, Health, and Education research group (DISAE). | |
