| Breve currículo investigador: | My achievements so far include 61 JCR-papers, (80% in Q1 and 40% in the first decile (D1) of each respective area and 4 scientific book chapters (2 as 1st author). I have presented 88 communications at conferences (46 international, 27 oral, 3 invited). My WoS’ h-index is 21; GoogleAcademics’ h-index: 22. I am first/ senior/corresponding author of 56% of my JCR-papers. After the prestigious postdoctoral fellowships Marie-Curie IEF (2014-2016 Institute of Botany, University of Innsbruck, Austria) and the "Juan de la Cierva-Incorporación" (2016-2018, for which I got the third position in my area: JdC-I Call2014), I worked at the UPV/ EHU where I managed as PI my own budget “IJCI-2014-22489” and “DYPFLU”. Since June 2019, I am set at the University of La Laguna (ULL) as Assistant Professor where I manage as PI two research projects: one national "DINERO", and one EU-project: "LAMELY". | |
| Líneas de investigación: | Main axes of my research are: 1) Unravelling how (i) phylogeny, (ii) external (e.g. environmental) factors and (iii) endogenous (e.g circadian rhythms) factors shape anatomical and biochemical plasticity of photosynthesis-related traits, in wild species; and 2) Disentangling mechanisms of photoprotection that are shared in photosynthetic organisms tolerant to desiccation and/or to low temperature. I intend to further our understanding of the ecophysiological mechanisms that underpin desiccation and freezing tolerance in photosynthetic organisms and on the interaction of light with both strategies. | |
