Guidance and tutoring

Geography and History Section

The Faculty of Geography and History has its own Guidance and Tutoring system which covers the following lines of action:

  • Guidance for students before enrollment.
  • Guidance for first-year students of the Degrees in History, Geography and Territorial Planning and in Art History.
  • Student guidance during the degree program

These lines of action are reflected in each academic year in a Student Guidance and Tutoring Action Plan (POAT) which includes the following actions in accordance with the Faculty's Quality Assurance System:

  1. Post-PAU Conference (in February and June). Career tutors will collaborate with the Vice-Rectorate for Students of the ULL in welcoming ESO and Baccalaureate students who visit the facilities of the Guajara Campus at those two times of the year, giving information talks about the three Degrees offered by the Faculty of Geography and History (History, Art History and Geography and Spatial Planning), distributing information brochures about the studies in the three Degrees as well as guiding a visit through the Departments.
  2. Open House (June 22). Career tutors will collaborate with the Vice-Rectorate for Students of the ULL and the Information and Guidance Service (SIO) During these sessions, informational talks will be given about the three degrees offered by the Faculty of Geography and History (History, Art History, and Geography and Spatial Planning). This session aims to inform 12th-grade students about the admissions and enrollment process at the University of La Laguna (ULL), the support services available to students, and to provide a guided tour of the departmental facilities. Participants will also contribute to the creation, editing, and distribution of informational brochures about the three degrees.
  3. Welcome Days This information will be provided to new students enrolled in the three degree programs offered by the Faculty of Geography and History. It will include essential general information on: the organization and operation of the Faculty and Departments, class and holiday schedules, exam calendar, credit transfers, BULL (University of La Laguna's online platform), ULL General Services, SIO (University Information System), Sports, etc.
  4. Guidance during the university stage. In this phase, information talks and workshops will be promoted on “Acquiring information from the ULL Library Service”, “Teaching Guides”, “Scholarships and validations”, “Erasmus and Seneca mobility programs”, “External Internships and Final Degree Projects”, “Postgraduate and Master's Degrees”, “Study techniques”, “Strategies to improve communication and expression of university students”, etc.
  5. Guidance on entering the labor market. In this phase, seminars will be held with professionals from the subjects of the three degrees, graduates, experts, etc., to inform students of job expectations once they finish their studies.
