En este caso hablaremos de un proceso que sufren muchas especies de nuestra flora.<br><br>Estamos acostumbrados a ver fotos de paisajes de \u00e1rboles que al llegar el oto\u00f1o comienza a dejar secar su follaje para prepararse para los duros inviernos y no congelarse, son las llamadas especies caducas. En Canarias, las dos \u00fanicas especies que realizan este tipo de parada son\u00a0<em>Pistacia atlantica<\/em>\u00a0(Alm\u00e1cigo) y\u00a0<em>Salix canariensis<\/em>\u00a0(Sauce canario), aunque incluso estos dos \u00e1rboles no llegan a realizarla de manera total.<br><br>Sin embargo, las especies perennes, las no caducas, realizan una parada o descanso en los meses estivales cuando las condiciones de escasez de agua, elevadas insolaci\u00f3n e incidencia de los vientos, son m\u00e1s duras. Debido a estos factores dejan caer su follaje al suelo limitando con ello la evapotranspiraci\u00f3n y no morir por deshidrataci\u00f3n.<br><br>Por ello debemos de entender que en verano la mayor\u00eda de especies que componen este parque se encontrar\u00e1n en dicha parada estival, pareciendo un jard\u00edn seco, aunque no
