Welcome and orientation of new arrivals
The Doctoral School will offer a welcome day for new students, as well as information sessions on specific topics of interest. All students are also enrolled in a virtual classroom for notifications and a communication channel.Students will also attend a program presentation session led by the coordinator of the University of La Laguna's academic committee and will be included in a virtual classroom for the program.In the Doctoral School Website There are several links with information on all the necessary procedures for completing a doctoral thesis, as well as the related forms. Internal Quality Assurance Service of the University of La Laguna
As a guarantee of the quality of teaching, its improvement, and the protection of the rights of students and faculty, the degree program is governed by specific regulations regarding dissemination mechanisms within the University of La Laguna's Internal Quality Assurance System.
To access any of the ULL's doctoral programs, you must meet the requirements established in Article 5 of the Regulations for Official Doctoral Studies at the University of La Laguna.The applicant must submit the endorsement of a researcher as a potential supervisor for the doctoral thesis, meeting the requirements of Article 10 of the ULL Doctoral Regulations. Additionally, this doctoral program requires proof of a B1 level or higher in English, as provided for in Article 6 of the ULL Doctoral Regulations.
Admission profile:
The entry profile required to access this doctoral program, as stated in its verification report, is as follows:
a) Graduates in Psychology, as well as other graduates in the branches of social sciences, law and health who have an Official Master's degree in the field of Psychology. In order to have completed this master's degree, these students with other degrees corresponding to the aforementioned branches will have already completed the necessary additional training in Psychology required to study it. Included in this profile are those students who enter with a DEA or research proficiency obtained in a doctoral program in the field of Psychology, as well as those who have successfully completed at least two years of PIR training. They will not have to take additional training.
b) Graduates in the area of Health Sciences with 300 ECTS or more obtained in their degree and who do not have postgraduate training in the field of Psychology as they do not have an Official Master's degree in this field. They must complete postgraduate training supplements equivalent to 18 ECTS according to Table 1 from the Masters taught at the Faculty of Psychology.
c) Students holding a previous doctoral degree not in the field of psychology will have to complete 18 ECTS credits of additional training.
Students with specific educational support needs
In compliance with Royal Decree 99/2011, of January 28, regulating official doctoral programs, a specific program is in place to assist students with specific educational support needs to promote their educational and social integration. As established in Article 6 of the ULL Doctoral Regulations, the academic committee may establish criteria for the selection and admission of students. In the case of this program, the following criteria will be applied to evaluate applications:
Body in charge of the admission process
The body responsible for the admissions process is the Academic Committee of the Doctoral Program in Psychology at the University of La Laguna.
The ULL Doctoral Regulations establish that admission to doctoral programs may include specific additional training requirements, in line with the admission profiles established for the corresponding doctoral program. These specific additional training requirements will be considered doctoral-level training for the purposes of public fees and the awarding of scholarships and grants.
Depending on the student's admission profile, the academic committee of the PhD program in Psychology, in accordance with VERIFICA, and taking into account the diverse origins of the students, resolves that students who have not completed an official master's degree in the field of Psychology must take, as complementary activities, three subjects of 6 credits belonging to the Master's Degree in General Health Psychology: Advanced research designs and data analysis in health psychology, assessment and diagnosis in health psychology, and neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation
