The university also has an Information and Orientation Service (IOS), which is the office dedicated to providing information, advice, and guidance to prospective students on matters related to their education and university life, as well as directing them to the appropriate offices with any more specific requests. Welcome and orientation of new arrivals
The Doctoral School will offer a welcome day for new students, as well as information sessions on specific topics of interest. All students are also enrolled in a virtual classroom for notifications and a communication channel.
Students will also attend a program presentation session led by the coordinator of the University of La Laguna's academic committee and will be included in a virtual classroom for the program.

Internal Quality Assurance Service of the University of La Laguna
As a guarantee of the quality of teaching, its improvement, and the protection of the rights of students and faculty, the degree program is governed by specific regulations regarding dissemination mechanisms within the University of La Laguna's Internal Quality Assurance System.

Additionally, for this doctoral program, accreditation of a B1 level or higher in English is required, as provided for in Article 6 of the ULL Doctoral Regulations.
Admission profile
In accordance with the principle of universal accessibility, this program is generally open to all students who meet the requirements set forth in the general regulations governing doctoral programs, both at the state level and at the participating universities.
Students with specific educational support needs
In compliance with Royal Decree 99/2011, of January 28, regulating official doctoral programs, a specific program is in place to assist students with specific educational support needs to promote their educational and social integration. As established in Article 6 of the ULL Doctoral Regulations, the academic committee may establish criteria for the selection and admission of students. In the case of this program, the following criteria will be applied to evaluate applications:
The Academic Committee of the Doctoral Program will evaluate and prioritize applications based on the following criteria for assessing the candidates' merits for their final admission into the program:
1. Access qualification (weighted 50%), valued as follows: if the student holds a qualification of the recommended profile, 25 points; if the student corresponds to additional profile 2, he/she will have 20 points; and if the student is included in additional profile 3, he/she will obtain 15 points.

Body in charge of the admission process
The body responsible for the admissions process is the Academic Committee of the Doctoral Program in Territory and Society: Historical Evolution in a Tricontinental Space (Africa, America, and Europe).
The body responsible for carrying out the admissions process is the Academic Committee. The Academic Committee will be composed of nine members. The doctoral program coordinator must be from the ULPGC, and a professor from the ULL will be responsible for coordinating with the other university. The committee will be formed with at least one representative from each line of research. The principle of representation will be respected within the committee, ensuring a balanced presence of representatives from the two universities sponsoring the program. To this end, it is established that there must always be a minimum of three members from each university.
The ULL Doctoral Regulations establish that admission to doctoral programs may include specific additional training requirements, in line with the admission profiles established for the corresponding doctoral program. These specific additional training requirements will be considered doctoral-level training for the purposes of public fees and the awarding of scholarships and grants.
Students who meet the recommended profile for admission to this doctoral program will not require additional training. Depending on the candidate's prior training and the program's curricular content, additional training may be chosen to facilitate the successful development of the thesis project.
