Advanced Pedagogical Studies

Social and Legal Sciences

The Master in Advanced Pedagogical Studies is designed to promote the formation of researchers and specialists with the capacity to conduct analysis and generate solutions to the problems faced by education in today’s society. The retrospective foundations, the plurality of perspectives and the prospective vocation are the axes of a complex, trans-disciplinary conception of pedagogical knowledge of unquestionable social transfer. Research in education and its capacity to innovate are key factors for implementing regional, national and trans-national social development and sustainability. Furthermore, as this is offered in distance learning mode, it is open to both domestic and international students interested in diversifying the contexts and possibilities that may emerge in the results in this area. This proposal, focused on an inter-disciplinary approach to avant-garde elements, includes the most important thematic areas in the training programme, set as research priorities in international agendas and the millennium goals. The need to re-think and re-direct pedagogical models around critical and alternative values and knowledge, discourses and practises for re-inventing citizenry and social improvements contained in development and sustainability projects. It also places the emphasis on the international projection of studies of this kind; especially, relations in the extra-community area. In other words, it seeks to foster that other privileged place of tri-continental exchange with Latin America and Africa, the one for training post-graduate studies and research jointly
