  • This Master offers training aimed at academic and professional specialisation. The qualification has emerged due to the need to specialise professionals engaged in preventative and formative (non-clinical) psycho-pedagogical actions in the different services and programmes that are implemented in the contexts of formal and non-formal education, providing support and advice for institutions and the different groups of students, parents and teachers in achieving their goals. The aim is to train educational professionals to be competent in the area of psycho-pedagogy to intervene in educational and professional orientation, in attention to diversity and specific educational needs, in advising on processes of teaching and learning and their difficulties, to reduce school drop-out rates, offer advice for parents in education, etc. Furthermore, the programme will explore the knowledge concerning planning and managing psycho-pedagogical services, psycho-pedagogical orientation and assessment models and the critical analysis of psycho-pedagogical intervention practises aimed at improving teaching and learning processes, in greater depth

    Specific skills
    • Critically analyse the specific problems of psycho-pedagogical intervention in formal and non-formal education contexts currently faced by education professionals
    • Apply the different assessment procedures and techniques accurately for a detailed analysis of the contexts in which psycho-pedagogical intervention unfolds
    • Use psycho-pedagogical intervention strategies in formal and non-formal education contexts aimed at training and counselling educators using a co-operative, inclusive and decision-making approaches in educational projects
    • Adapt the different theoretical models and practical strategies consolidated in the scientific literature in the area to the specific reality of educational attention to diversity in the different formal and non-formal education contexts
    • Develop the functions of tutorship and educational and professional orientation using the different theoretical models of professional action
    • Handle psycho-pedagogical intervention strategies with the families of students with specific educational needs to win their co-operation and participation in the integral education of the students
    • Use consolidated techniques to assess and psycho-pedagogically diagnose the educational needs, professional skills, centres and programmes in formal and non-formal education contexts
    • Simulate different psycho-pedagogical education intervention strategies consolidated in the scientific literature to act with socially less-favoured groups
    • Project work on subjects associated with advanced psycho-pedagogical intervention
    • Participate in formal and non-formal education centres, actively sharing the daily experience of psycho-pedagogical intervention in external placements
    • Formulate innovative proposals relating to specialising in psycho-pedagogical intervention aimed at improving educational practise in formal and non-formal education contexts

  • Holders of the following university qualifications: Psycho-pedagogy, Pedagogy, Specialist School Teacher, Speech Therapy, Psychology, Social Educator, Infant Education and Primary Education
  • On the other hand, pursuant to article 5, Decree 168/2008, 22nd July (Official Canary Island Gazette nº 154), students applying for access to the master must accredit a command of a foreign language, equivalent to level B1 English of the Common European Frameworks of Reference for Languages
