  • To prepare our graduate students so that they may continue with national or European postgraduate studies
  • To train critical and creative individuals with knowledge, skills and abilities that enable them to overcome difficulties and raise, detect and solve problems related to the creation, analysis, assessment and management of images, especially those of an artistic nature, as well as to teach and guarantee the transmission of these attitudes, abilities, values and skills
  • Visual artists capable of using all creative media and techniques
  • Creative artist working in the audiovisual field using the latest imagining technologies
  • Cultural manager, assessor, artistic director, art critic, cultural analyst and reporter, programmer, art curator, and other activities linked ot the Arts & Culture
  • Teacher (in your particular field of expertise)
  • Other professional opportunities using art: illustrator, comic artist or animator, art director, set designer & set construction, design and mounting of exhibits / art galleries, scenographic projects and ephemeral design
    General Skills
    • Identify and understand the problems of art, and perceive, formalise and conceptualise new aspects of reality that can be treated artistically
    • Develop artistic creation processes by learning different techniques and technologies, favouring critical reflection about one’s own work and contact with the context in which it is created
    • Know the problems defined by other artists, the solutions offered and the criteria used
    • Know the different functions that art has acquired in relation to the socio-cultural contexts in which it has been produced and the evolution of the different forms of expression, its mutual interactions and influences, and understand how they configure the present and influence the future
    • Know the structure of the culture industry, as well as the location and configuration of the hubs of decision-making in relation to it
    • Devise artistic creation strategies through individual and collective projects, from the perspective of the capacity of art to transform as an active player in configuring cultures

    Specific skills
    • Knowledge and critical understanding of the history and theory of art
    • Knowledge of the terminology, codes and concepts of art
    • Knowledge of the elements and factors that define the artistic context, its professional rules and the stakeholders that regulate its institutions
    • Ability to solve problems related with creating images with a knowledge of the procedures, techniques and materials, by applying methodologies and by acquiring the appropriate skills and capacities
    • Ability to develop criteria and a specific field within the sphere of advanced artistic production
    • Ability to plan and organise individual and collective work
    • Ability to visually analyse and synthesise information
    • Ability to produce and connect ideas and to identify, interpret and raise innovative and pertinent problems in contexts related to artistic production that require creative and innovative ideas
    • Ability to identify training needs and independently organise the learning process, to search and interpret data upon which to base conclusions, in order to analyse and assess the work and adapt it in consequence
    • Ability to get involved and apply knowledge and skills in complex situations within academic or professionally specialised spheres
    • Critical ability to analyse, interpret and assess artistic creation, and to reflect on social, scientific or ethical issues in this field of study
    • Ability to propose, manage, lead and present avant-garde cultural projects
    • Ability to communicate the knowledge, methodologies, ideas, problems and solutions in the sphere of artistic production clearly and accurately, and to articulate and appraise your own contributions in professional and specialised domains
