Diploma of Specialization in Operating Room Nursing

Access and admission

Access

According to the agreement 6.a) of 22-02-20204 of the Governing Council of the University of La Laguna by which The Regulations for Specific Teachings of the University of La Laguna are approved.

To access the Postgraduate Degrees (Master's Degree in Continuing Education, Specialization Diploma and Expert Diploma) it will be necessary:

  1. Hold an official Spanish university degree or another degree issued by a higher education institution belonging to another Member State of the European Higher Education Area, which qualifies the applicant for access to master's degrees.
  2. b) Hold a degree issued by an educational system outside the European Higher Education Area without a recognition resolution or declaration of equivalence. In these cases, the academic administration will submit a preliminary report to the Academic Committee, which will authorize or deny access. Under no circumstances will this authorization imply recognition of the foreign degree or its recognition for purposes other than pursuing postgraduate studies at the ULL.

Individuals without a university degree qualifying for admission to Postgraduate Diplomas and who can provide documentary evidence of significant and extensive professional experience in the subject of their studies may access the Expert Diploma through a professional experience recognition procedure. The Academic Committee of the postgraduate diploma will be responsible for recognizing students' professional experience and authorizing their admission.

Those who cannot meet the entry requirements at the time of enrollment may apply for conditional enrollment, which is valid for the same period as a regular enrollment. In this case, they will not be entitled to the respective certification or degree until these requirements are met. Failure to obtain the degree will not entitle them to a refund of tuition, fees, or other fixed costs.

Admission and scale

The admission process for the Specialization Diploma will be conducted through applications from interested parties, which will be processed by the Continuing Education Center. The Center will be responsible for verifying that each candidate meets the entry requirements. If the number of applications exceeds the number of places offered, the following criteria will be applied to select candidates:

  • Academic record: Up to 5 points.
  • Teaching experience with students in the surgical field: Up to 5 points.
  • Research on topics related to operating room nursing: Up to 3 points.
  • Courses taken on operating room nursing or clinical nursing: Up to 3 points.
  • Professional experience in the field of activities related to the degree: Up to 3 points.

In this Specialization Diploma, 5% of the available places will be reserved for students who have a recognized disability level equal to or greater than 33%.

In the event of rejection, the student may file a complaint with the Subcommittee on Special Degrees and Microcredentials of the Committee on Special Studies and, in the event of a negative decision, may file an appeal with the Rector of the ULL.

If, after the pre-registration period, there are still vacant places, an extraordinary pre-registration period may be established at the discretion of the Academic Committee for each degree, which will set the deadline it deems appropriate.
