Master's Degree in Bilingual Education: CLIL

The objective of this Master's degree is part of the general objective of improving the range of postgraduate degrees offered in another foreign language, proposed in the ULL's Plurilingualism Support Plan. This plan states that "the Canary Islands' situation as a tricontinental meeting point makes it essential for the University of La Laguna to have a language policy that fosters our connection with Africa (French and English speaking), America (Spanish, English speaking, French and Portuguese speaking) and Europe, where English has become the lingua franca of the continent." It is therefore necessary to increase the range of postgraduate degrees in English, not only to attract international students but also to connect them with the needs of Canarian society. In this regard, it is worth mentioning the interest of the Canary Islands government in developing a bilingual plan for education, the PILE plan, which establishes Spanish/English bilingual education as a goal for the next decade.
