This micro-credential equips students to integrate and apply occupational risk prevention in the hospitality sector, ensuring safe and healthy professional performance. The program provides the
skills needed to identify risks and promote a preventive culture in the company, contributing to avoiding work-related health damage.
To equip students with the professional skills necessary to integrate and apply occupational risk prevention in the hospitality sector. Acquiring these basic preventative competencies ensures that professional activity is carried out in safe and healthy conditions, promoting professional performance in accordance with preventative principles. To certify technical training for identifying risks in the sector, enabling students to become key resources in the company's preventative culture. This means that no worker in the hospitality sector should suffer health problems as a result of their work due to a lack of competency in occupational risk prevention.
Students must be between 25 and 64 years old on the date the training begins.
This training is only available to staff from companies associated with ASHOTEL (Hotel and Extrahotel Association of Tenerife, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro).
A university degree will not be required to access this micro-credential.
I. Basic concepts on safety and health
Work and health: occupational risks in the hospitality industry.
Work-related injuries: accidents and occupational diseases.
Basic rights and duties in prevention.
II. General risks and their prevention
Risks related to safety conditions.
Risks related to the work environment.
Workload, fatigue, and job dissatisfaction.
Basic risk control systems.
Collective and individual protection.
Emergency and evacuation plans.
Monitoring the health of workers.
III. Specific risks in the hospitality industry
Food handling and biological risks.
Use of machinery and equipment
Electrical hazard.
I work in outdoor spaces and I work with the floor staff.
Manual handling of loads.
IV. Basic prevention management
Public bodies related to safety and health.
Organization of preventive work.
Preventive documentation: preparation and filing.
V. First aid
Action to take in cases of burns, cuts and choking.
Basic emergency intervention protocol.
The microcredential will have an evaluation system (ES) based on the following assessment tests:
