Overview

This micro-credential equips students to effectively use communication tools and learning monitoring strategies in online environments. It addresses best practices for online teaching communication and key knowledge assessment activities that can be implemented within the institutional systems of the University of La Laguna.

Goals

To train students to use communication tools and learning monitoring strategies appropriately in non-face-to-face environments, knowing the best practices in online teaching communication and the main knowledge assessment activities that can be implemented in the institutional systems of the University of La Laguna.

Access requirements

It will be necessary:

  • To hold an official Spanish university degree or another degree issued by a higher education institution of the European Higher Education Area that qualifies for access to master's studies.
  • Holding a foreign degree issued by an educational system outside the EHEA. In this case, the academic director will issue a report to the Academic Committee, which will authorize or deny access without this implying validation or recognition for other purposes.
  • Being a teaching and research staff member of the University of La Laguna.
  • Be between 25 and 64 years of age on the date the training begins.

Contents

The micro-credential is organized into three main sections covering online teaching communication, learning monitoring, and assessment activities in non-face-to-face environments, using the ULL's institutional tools and Moodle. The theoretical and practical content of the course includes:

  • Block 1. Communication
    1.1. Communication in non-face-to-face environments.
    1.2. Communication tools in ULL.EDU.ES.
    1.3. Communication tools in Moodle.
    1.4. Communication directed to tutors.
  • Block 2. Monitoring of learning
    2.1. Monitoring learning in Moodle.
  • Block 3. Assessment Activities
    3.1. Assessment in non-face-to-face environments.
    3.2. Assessment tools at ULL.EDU.ES.
    3.3. Assessment activities in Moodle.
    3.4. Other assessment tools in Moodle.

Methodology and activities

The training activities to be carried out during the delivery of the micro-credential will be:

• Theoretical classes: expository, explanatory or demonstration sessions of the contents and knowledge.

• Practical classes: sessions of practical application of the content developed in the classes.

• Independent work: independent and self-regulated activity of the student based on the documentation and guidelines proposed in the subject, preparation of classes and exams, preparation of final reports, internship reports

• Tutoring (individual, group…): activity in which the teaching staff attends to, facilitates and guides one or more students in the training process.

Evaluation criteria

The microcredential will have an evaluation system (ES) based on the following evaluation tests:

• Case, exercise and problem solving: tests in which students must solve, in a reasoned manner, within a certain time, and according to the established criteria, the cases, exercises or problems posed by the teaching staff, with the aim of applying the knowledge acquired.
