Overview

This micro-credential empowers students to work in teams and coordinate teaching collaboration, fostering deep, autonomous, and self-directed learning. Furthermore, it provides knowledge of digital and hybrid teaching, enabling them to effectively plan and manage educational processes in virtual environments and classrooms.

  • Apply procedures and skills for group work, coordination and teaching collaboration; promote deep, autonomous and self-directed learning of students.
  • To know and understand elements, strategies and modalities of digital and hybrid teaching and to plan teaching processes in virtual environments/classrooms.

  • Being a teaching and research staff member of the University of La Laguna.

Academic program

Contents

  1. What is a group; the class as a group; importance of its management.
  2. Stages of group formation; roles; group techniques and dynamics.
  3. Surface vs. deep learning; Self-regulation (SRR) and its relationship with deep learning; elements and methodological aspects that favor it.
  4. Models and dimensions of virtual environments.
  5. Hybrid/blended learning and online distance learning.
  6. Teaching roles and tasks in digital education. 7. AI in university teaching.

Methodology and activities

Regarding the way to organize the teaching to achieve the objectives set out in the micro-credential, the organizational modality summarized below will be followed:

MD1. Lectures/expository method: presentation or explanation by the teaching staff.

MD2. Practical classes: activities supervised by the teaching staff in the classroom, laboratories, clinics.

MD4. Individual work: individual preparation of assignments/projects/reports, portfolio, …

MD8. Tutoring: instruction period in which teachers and students interact with the aim of reviewing and discussing materials and topics presented in class.

MD10. Active methodologies: cooperative learning, project-based learning, flipped classroom, service learning, game-based learning, case studies, problem solving… These are aimed at making learning a participatory process and are based on student agency.

Evaluation criteria

The microcredential will have an evaluation system (ES) based on the following assessment tests:
SE6. Attendance, participation or attitude in teaching activities, seminars, tutorials, etc.: monitoring student attendance and participation in teaching activities, carrying out activities during teaching sessions.
SE7. Works, memoirs, internship memoirs, reports and written projects: document prepared on a topic or activity carried out, following the instructions established by the teaching staff.
