Digital Transformation of Teaching and Didactics with AI

Overview

This training aims to equip teachers
university knowledge about the different teaching models and approaches
digital in higher education, enabling him to plan and design environments
virtual learning environments. It also offers a didactic model for integrating the use
of artificial intelligence tools in planning, development and evaluation
of teaching tasks, promoting more innovative and effective teaching.

Goals

To train students in the competence of designing, planning and evaluating
university teaching in virtual environments, understanding the different models and approaches of
digital teaching in higher education and applying a didactic model that integrates
critically and ethically use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to promote
critical and autonomous thinking of the students.

Access requirements

  • To hold an official Spanish university degree or other
    issued by a higher education institution within the European Education Area
    Higher education that qualifies for access to master's level studies.
  • To hold a foreign degree issued by an educational system outside the EHEA.
    In this case, the academic director will issue a report to the Academic Commission, which
    will authorize or deny access without this implying homologation or recognition to
    other effects.
  • Being a teaching and research staff member of the University of La Laguna.
  • Be between 25 and 64 years of age on the date the training begins.

Two places (5 % of the available places) will be reserved for teachers who have a recognized qualification
degree of disability equal to or greater than 33 %. In the event that demand exceeds the supply of places, the following criteria will be applied
precedence:

  • Professional category:
    • Assistant Professor (PhD).
    • Contracted PhD/a permanent teaching staff.
    • PDI officer.
    • Associate Professor.
    • Postdoctoral research staff with teaching assignments.
    • Teaching staff of affiliated schools.
    • Substitute teachers.
  • Seniority: Within each category, applications will be ordered from lowest to highest
    antique.
  • Order of registration: in the event of a tie, the strict order of registration will be taken into account.

Methodology and activities

Theoretical classes: expository, explanatory or demonstration sessions of the
content and knowledge.

  • Seminars, workshops, or other complementary activities (discussion forums,
    simulations,…): monographic sessions in which the participation of
    students. They are supervised by the subject's teaching staff.
  • Work: preparation of a study, essay, paper… proposed in the subject,
    either individually or in a group, following established guidelines.
  • Independent work: independent and self-regulated activity of the student starting from
    the documentation and guidelines proposed in the subject, class preparation and
    exams, preparation of final reports, internship reports…
  • Tutoring (individual, group…): an activity in which the teaching staff attends to and facilitates
    and guides one or more students in the training process.
  • Assessment: continuous assessment tests and final exams.
    Tests may be in-person or virtual, and may be conducted in written or oral form.

Evaluation criteria

Case studies, exercises, and problems: tests in which students must solve, in a reasoned manner, within a set time, and according to established criteria, the cases, exercises, or problems posed by the teaching staff, with the aim of applying the
acquired knowledge.
Written works, memoirs, internship reports, and projects: a document prepared on a topic or activity carried out, following the instructions established by the teaching staff.
