University Expert in Municipal Cultural Management, Citizen Participation and Coordination of Popular Universities

In our current context, we must understand culture as a fundamental instrument for social transformation, and this transformation necessarily involves citizen participation. Promoting the necessary elements for social participation within civil society—and, going a little further, social action—requires cross-disciplinary and multidisciplinary training. This university expert presented here includes training in the elements necessary to move from the contemplation, use, and management of heritage to its use as a municipal resource for participation. In this sense, a fundamental content of this training is the use of tools and strategies that promote participation. This expert also includes the introduction of content on governance, heritage management, and Popular Universities, a fundamental element for the development and implementation of this degree. Ultimately, the purpose of this degree is to promote the professionalization of municipal technicians in the areas of social/citizen participation, providing them with the tools, knowledge, and skills necessary to perform their duties as efficiently and effectively as possible in their area of expertise.
