The Curriculum for the Degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of La Laguna has a total of 240 credits in accordance with the distribution shown in the following tables, taking into account the subjects of the branch, compulsory and optional subjects, final degree project and external internships.
The following table lists the modules that make up the curriculum of the Degree in Environmental Sciences and, within each module, the subjects that comprise it are described.
The subjects have been distributed in 4 courses of 60 credits each, divided into 2 semesters, which include all the theoretical and practical training that students must acquire. This distribution reflects the organization of the teaching offer by the Faculty, having a purely indicative character for the students. Students can take the subjects at the time they consider appropriate and with the distribution they wish, although subject to the limitations imposed by the University and the prerequisites, corequisites and previous requirements recommended for each subject.
All subjects offered are four-monthly and worth 6 ECTS, except for the External Internships and the Final Degree Project, which are worth 12 ECTS each.
In the fourth year, in addition to 12 credits of compulsory subjects, 12 credits of External Internships and 12 credits of the Final Degree Project, students must take 24 optional credits, corresponding to four subjects, of 6 credits each, chosen from among the twelve offered and according to the chosen profile.
*Requirements for both Mentions
Water and Waste Management.-
It is compulsory to take the subject “Solid Waste” and one of the following two subjects: “Water Treatment and Management Technology” or “Water Quality”.
Once this has been completed, the remaining 12 ECTS will be chosen from all the optional subjects not taken from this Mention.
Assessment and Management of the Natural Environment.–
Students must take at least 2 subjects from Block A (“Marine Environment and Pollution”, “Planning and Management of Protected Areas” or “Conservation Biology”) and the rest must be chosen from Block B (“Sustainability and Environmental Education”, “Environmental Management Systems” and “Environmental Toxicology and Public Health”) and the one not chosen from Block A.
Students who do not choose any of the above mentioned courses must complete 24 ECTS in any of the optional subjects offered.
