The program includes all the required subjects currently included in the Bachelor's Degree in Labor Relations Law, which are the two legal professionals qualified to practice law and provide legal advice and defense before the courts in Spain. By including a large number of core subjects, the program covers all legal training and specific training in business and human resources in five academic years, making this dual degree a very attractive option for those wishing to pursue a career in legal advice in the broader sense.
The Double Degree in Law and Labor Relations prepares students, on the one hand, for general and specific legal training in the labor field, and on the other, for mastering the various aspects of human resources and work organization. It provides multidisciplinary training in law, psychology, sociology, and economics with the goal of managing human resources in organizations or serving as a legal advisor in any field.
No specific prior training is required for admission to the Double Degree in Law and Labour Relations, although the most appropriate training for students is that of students who have completed the Social Sciences program in Baccalaureate, as well as the Scientific-Technological program, without prejudice to the Humanities program also being suitable, provided that they have included in their training the core mathematics subjects included in the Social Sciences program.
It is advisable for students to show interest in aspects related to the degree's educational objectives and possess skills that will equip them to be receptive to the learning outcomes they will acquire while pursuing the degree. Desirable qualities for prospective double-degree students include:
● That their interests include economic and social aspects, as well as others related to the social and legal sciences. ● Must have skills in oral and written comprehension and expression, problem-solving and decision-making, as well as in dealing with the public. And must have a good memory. ● Be able to synthesize and argue critically, work in a team, be responsible and consistent in work, and be able to abstract. ● It is recommended that students have an adequate level of English language proficiency (B1 or equivalent: Baccalaureate, FP, etc.).
This degree provides the most complete and comprehensive training for practicing any legal profession in Spain, except for the legal profession, which requires a master's degree for entry, and which can be accessed through this dual degree. It also qualifies for the direct practice of the regulated profession of Social Graduate, which requires mandatory membership in the professional association. It allows for the development of all the professions accessible through either of the two degrees separately. Therefore, it qualifies individuals to work in human resources management in the public and private sectors, to work in management, mediation, and intervention in the labor market, to teach and undertake academic research, to work in legal and labor auditing, to apply for positions in the Labor and Social Security Inspectorate (both as inspector and sub-inspector), as well as to apply for positions in the Social Security Administration (at all levels from A1).
Furthermore, these graduates can access a wide range of career opportunities within the public administration. Thus, any graduate of this degree can hold positions as a civil servant in the Administration of Justice (judge, prosecutor, judicial lawyer, court manager, among others) or as a civil servant in the Public Administration at the higher level (State Attorney, Court Lawyer, Social Security Lawyer, Labor Inspector, Social Security Technician, Tax Inspector, among others).
In relation to the above, these graduates can access positions within local authorities (town hall secretary) and within the Autonomous Communities (civil service staff of departments within the autonomous communities, legal services, legal staff of regional parliaments, among others).
Graduates of this degree can also pursue private professions such as notary, registrar, property agent, or property manager.
On another note, graduates of the degree can become civil servants in an international organization or perform their duties within the European Union.
Likewise, graduates may occupy positions as secondary school or university teachers, in accordance with the rules for access to secondary education and access to university teaching staff and research in public and private research centers.
The multidisciplinary training of these graduates allows them to work in all economic sectors, primarily in human resources, personnel, legal, tax, labor, and administration and management departments.
