Recognition and transfer of credits

It is understood by credit recognition The acceptance by the university of credits obtained in previous training/experience, for their computation towards obtaining an official degree. 

In accordance with the provisions of the current Verification/Modification Report of the qualification and the applicable regulations, the following assumptions of credit recognition are considered: 

  • Official university courses
  • Official non-university higher education 
  • University-specific degrees (not included)
  • Accredited work and professional experience (not considered)
  • Participation in university activities 
  • Participation in national and international mobility programs

Under no circumstances may the Final Degree Project be recognized.

In compliance with the provisions of the Article 10.7 of Royal Decree 822/2021, of September 28, Pursuant to the regulations establishing the organization of university studies and the procedure for ensuring their quality, the Technical Committee for Credit Recognition of the Faculty of Education has resolved to update the Credit Recognition Table for the Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. For the 2024/25 academic year, the maximum number of credits that can be recognized from the Higher Level Vocational Training Cycle in Early Childhood Education is [number missing in original text]. 48 ECTS (table published in July 2024)Consequently, Students who began their studies in the Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education prior to the 2024/25 academic year, and who have had subjects recognized that were listed in recognition tables prior to the current one, will not be able to obtain new awards, if the maximum number of 48 recognized credits is exceeded from the Higher Level Vocational Training Cycle in Early Childhood Education.

Likewise, in compliance with the aforementioned Royal Decree 822/2021, The University of La Laguna published in the BOULL on October 7, 2024, the new Regulations for the recognition and transfer of credits of the University of La Laguna, whose Article 9.2 It states that:

When a higher technical degree in vocational training is held and there is a direct relationship between the claimed degree and the Bachelor's degree, recognition will be guaranteed that may not have a proportion less than 15% nor greater than 25% of the total credit load, which will be carried out among the subjects or subjects of a basic, compulsory and optional nature of the Bachelor's degree.

In July 2024, the Faculty of Education's Technical Committee for Credit Recognition established that the maximum number of credits that can be recognized from the Higher Level Vocational Training Cycle in Early Childhood Education is 48 ECTS. This limit was determined within the range established by Article 9.2 of the new regulations, published on October 7, 2024, which sets a ratio of no less than 15% (36 ECTS) and no more than 25% (60 ECTS).

For its part, the credit transfer It constitutes the annotation in the official academic documents of the ULL certifying the courses followed by each student, of all the credits obtained in official courses previously taken, at the ULL or at another university, which have not been recognized nor have led to the obtaining of an official degree.

The credit recognition tables are in the process of being updated to adapt to the modifications of the  Regulations for the Recognition, Adaptation and Transfer of Credits of the University of La Laguna.
