La inestabilidad gen\u00e9tica en nuestras c\u00e9lulas lleva inexorablemente al C\u00e1ncer y tambi\u00e9n a ciertas enfermedades degenerativas. Adem\u00e1s, la inestabilidad gen\u00e9tica est\u00e1 detr\u00e1s de la diversidad que existe dentro de los tumores y que explica su malignidad y resistencia a tratamientos. El da\u00f1o a la mol\u00e9cula de ADN y los fallos en la segregaci\u00f3n de cromosomas durante la divisi\u00f3n celular son las causas m\u00e1s comunes de inestabilidad gen\u00e9tica y, parad\u00f3jicamente, la estrategia empleada por la mayor\u00eda de los antitumorales para eliminar las c\u00e9lulas cancer\u00edgenas. Los objetivos de nuestro grupo se centran en entender estos fen\u00f3menos y c\u00f3mo contribuyen a la compleja Biolog\u00eda del C\u00e1ncer. Para ello usamos fundamentalmente organismos modelo como Saccharomyces cerevisiae, l\u00edneas celulares humanas y muestras de tumores de pacientes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tambi\u00e9n estamos interesados en compuestos qu\u00edmicos que afectan al ADN, los microt\u00fabulos, las mitocondrias, la membrana plasm\u00e1tica, las topoisomerasas, la agregaci\u00f3n proteica, etc. y sus posibles usos como terapia antitumoral, antibi\u00f3tica, antif\u00fangica, antiparasitaria y contra las enfermedades neurodegenerativas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Proyectos financiados<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Homeostasis de la envoltura nuclear durante la segregaci\u00f3n cromos\u00f3mica y la reparaci\u00f3n tard\u00eda de da\u00f1o al DNA (PID2021-123716OB-I00).
