He CEIBA Its general function is to debate and report on the ethical problems raised by scientific research developed in the context of ULL and it is his responsibility, in particular:
- To study and report, based on ethical requirements and in accordance with current legal regulations, the protocols of those research projects originating from any center of the ULL those that use, as experimental material, people, organic samples from human beings, personal data that may be considered confidential, live animals, or samples of animal origin. It will also analyze any other research project that may directly affect the basic rights of individuals or interests linked to the defense and protection of the environment.
- To report, at the request of interested researchers, those manuscripts intended for publication that are produced by staff members of the ULL.
