«"For Evans" is a musical project born from a deep admiration for the sensitivity, sophisticated harmony, and introspective lyricism of the great jazz pianist Bill Evans. This project seeks to pay homage to his legacy from a contemporary European perspective, bringing together two musicians with solid careers and immense artistic sensitivity: the Spanish guitarist Iván Rojas and the Italian pianist Gino Marcelli.

Both artists embark on this sonic journey from a place of respect and aesthetic exploration. Rojas's elegant and expressive jazz guitar blends with the rich timbre of Marcelli's acoustic piano to construct a musical dialogue full of nuances, meaningful silences, and restrained emotions. Together they create original arrangements that reimagine the Evansian universe without losing its essence: suspended melodies, open structures, and an air of profoundly poetic introspection.

The repertoire combines classic Bill Evans compositions—such as Interplay, Turn Out the Stars, and Time Remembered—with original pieces inspired by his style, allowing the master's influence to intertwine with Rojas and Marcelli's creative identity. The arrangements, conceived jointly by both musicians, are not mere reinterpretations, but rather recreations imbued with artistic intention, where every note is carefully chosen and every pause carries meaning. "For Evans" is conceived as an album for attentive, intimate listening, inviting the listener to immerse themselves in a contemplative and emotional soundscape. More than a tribute, it is a conversation between generations, a bridge between 20th-century American jazz and contemporary European sensibilities.

This project not only seeks to preserve the memory of Bill Evans, but also to open new paths for contemporary chamber jazz, from the heart of the Iberian and Italian music scene.
