The University of La Laguna, together with the Parliament of the Canary Islands, have organized the exhibition "Under the palm of your hand", an artistic initiative that revives the solidarity project that emerged after the 2021 volcanic eruption on the island of La Palma and that brings together creators from the archipelago again around a collective gesture of support, memory and hope.

The initiative originated in 2022, when, coinciding with the first anniversary of the eruption, the exhibition “Deconstructing a wall for La Palma” was held at the TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes Art Library, promoted from the University of La Laguna by María Luisa Hodgson Torres, PhD and full professor of the Department of Fine Arts, together with the Psychology professors Carmen Rosa Sánchez and Melania Simón.

The exhibition now hosted by the Parliament brings together 15 unique pieces by eleven Canarian artists: Álvaro Sonson, Antonio Dimas, Conrado Díaz, Lola Carbajosa, María Luisa Hodgson, Miguel González, Narciso Hernández, Rafael Granja, Román Hernández, Susana Guerra and Tomás Oropesa.

In addition, the exhibition includes a selection of the original tiles that were part of that collective action, recalling how art became a vehicle of solidarity and support for the people of La Palma.
