This educational and outreach initiative is aimed at students aged 10 to 14 in the municipality of Arona and will be held at the Las Galletas Business Center. Its main objective is to introduce science and technology to young people in a practical, dynamic, and participatory way, sparking scientific curiosity and fostering interest in scientific careers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Through a comprehensive program of workshops, experiments, talks, and interactive activities, participants will discover how the scientific method works and how it is applied in different fields of knowledge. The activities will be led by researchers from the University of La Laguna and the Cienci@ULL technical team, promoting engaging, creative, and hands-on learning.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year's edition will focus particularly on areas related to mathematics, computational thinking, experimental sciences, science communication, and fine arts, offering an interdisciplinary view of knowledge and demonstrating how these disciplines relate to one another in everyday life and in addressing current societal challenges. Through age-appropriate activities, students will develop scientific, technological, and creative skills while working in teams and actively participating in practical and innovative experiences.<\/span><\/p>\n

The activities will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays during the scheduled weeks. The workshop will have two different formats: one for students in grades 4, 5, and 6 of primary school, which will be held from July 8 to 10, and another for students in grades 1 and 2 of secondary school, which will be held from July 15 to 17.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The number of places is limited to 20 participants per week, and it is an essential requirement to reside in the municipality of Arona and to be studying one of the educational levels between 4th grade of Primary School and 2nd year of Secondary School.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Arona Summer Science and Technology Laboratory is part of the ARN INNOVA program, an initiative promoted by the Arona City Council, the University of La Laguna and its General Foundation, whose purpose is to promote innovation, knowledge and scientific and technological vocations among the citizens and youth of the municipality.<\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
