El Instituto Universitario de Neurociencia junto con el Colegio oficial de la Psicolog\u00eda de Las Palmas ha organizado para el d\u00eda 26 de julio el workshop ‘Predictive waves and cognitive styles in human’ en la sala de audiovisuales de la Facultad de Psicolog\u00eda y Logopedia y ser\u00e1 impartido por Vincenzo Romei, profesor de la Universidad de Bolonia.<\/p>\n

En este seminario tratar\u00e1 sobre como los seres humanos construyen modelos predictivos sobre su entorno para anticipar y dar sentido a la informaci\u00f3n sensorial\u00a0 y reaccionar en consecuencia. De acuerdo con esta noci\u00f3n, el cerebro tiene como una m\u00e1quina de predicci\u00f3n que trata de acoplar entradas sensoriales entrantes con expectativas de arriba hacia abajo. Los ritmos cerebrales son uno de los mecanismos neurofisiol\u00f3gicos adecuados para comprender la implementaci\u00f3n de procesos predictivos, debido a su papel en la configuraci\u00f3n de la percepci\u00f3n de resultados y en el intercambio de informaci\u00f3n neuronal. Tambi\u00e9n se cree que la actividad cerebral oscilatoria juega un papel crucial en diferentes trastornos del neurodesarrollo como el autismo y psiqui\u00e1tricos como la esquizofrenia.<\/p>\n

Humans build predictive models about their environment to anticipate and make sense of incoming sensory information and react accordingly. In line with this notion, the brain has
\nbeen described as a ‘prediction machine’; that tries to couple incoming sensory inputs with top-down expectations. Brain rhythms are one of the neurophysiological mechanisms suitable for understanding the implementation of predictive processes, due to their role in shaping the perceptual outcomes and in neural information exchange. Impairments in different key aspects of oscillatory brain activity are also thought to play a crucial role in different neurodevelopmental (e.g., autism) and psychiatric (e.g., schizophrenia) disorders.<\/p>\n
