Licenciada en Ciencias de la Informaci\u00f3n, Periodismo por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, en 1986 y Profesora Titular en la ULL desde 1997.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Trabaj\u00f3 durante siete a\u00f1os en los peri\u00f3dicos <em>Jornada y El D\u00eda<\/em>, y en este \u00faltimo medio de comunicaci\u00f3n realiz\u00f3 tareas de colaboraci\u00f3n como comentarista en una columna period\u00edstica titulada \u201cA estas Alturas\u201d. En dicha columna, comentaba la actualidad y orientaba las tem\u00e1ticas para favorecer la transferencia de las investigaciones sobre Comunicaci\u00f3n, y la docencia en las materias de los mensajes y redacci\u00f3n que impart\u00eda en la Licenciatura de Periodismo y en el Grado de Periodismo, desde 2008,\u00a0 adem\u00e1s de en Programas de Doctorado y en diversos M\u00e1steres Oficiales.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Durante m\u00e1s de 20 a\u00f1os de su trayectoria, siempre ha estado comprometida con la gesti\u00f3n universitaria, al frente de cargos como directora del Departamento de Ciencias de la Informaci\u00f3n, vicedecana del centro, o decana de la Facultad. Tambi\u00e9n ha sido la coordinadora de varios Programas de Doctorado, con colaboraci\u00f3n con universidades latinoamericanas. Tambi\u00e9n ha dirigido los m\u00e1steres de Ciencias de la Comunicaci\u00f3n de la ULL. El \u00faltimo, y actualmente vigente, el M\u00e1ster Universitario en Innovaci\u00f3n Comunicativa en las Organizaciones.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">En 2015, fue distinguida, junto a otras siete docentes, por la propia Universidad de La Laguna, con motivo de la celebraci\u00f3n del primer homenaje con motivo del D\u00eda de la Mujer Trabajadora (8 de Marzo). Con el mismo motivo, recibi\u00f3 la distinci\u00f3n y el homenaje del Ayuntamiento de Santa Cruz de Tenerife en 2021, en esta ocasi\u00f3n junto a tres profesionales periodistas con alto reconocimiento por su trayectoria profesional.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">La Comunicaci\u00f3n y G\u00e9nero, han sido ejes centrales en sus temas de investigaci\u00f3n, sobre los que ha publicado numerosos art\u00edculos cient\u00edficos. Tambi\u00e9n ha dedicado su investigaci\u00f3n al an\u00e1lisis de los mensajes period\u00edsticos, a la prensa local, los g\u00e9neros informativos y las tendencias de redacci\u00f3n y estilo en todos los entornos y soportes medi\u00e1ticos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Ha sido investigadora en numerosos proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n I+D, y dirigido algunos relacionados con la tem\u00e1tica multidisciplinar de Comunicaci\u00f3n para el Desarrollo, a trav\u00e9s de cuya l\u00ednea de investigaci\u00f3n dirige Calima Red, que es un grupo de investigadores en comunicaci\u00f3n y cultura \u00c1frica-Canarias, que en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os tambi\u00e9n incluye trabajos que trasladan su mirada a la cooperaci\u00f3n con universidades latinoamericanas.<\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=\u00bb<strong>Departamento<\/strong>\u00bb font_container=\u00bbtag:h4|text_align:left|color:%23535968&#8243;
