Desde el a\u00f1o 2002 colabora con el grupo de investigaci\u00f3n de la Dra. Luz Candenas Lujan y Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Pinto (CSIC, Sevilla), pioneros en el estudio de las taquicininas y sus receptores en el sistema reproductor de mam\u00edferos. En esta l\u00ednea, su investigaci\u00f3n actual se centra en averiguar el papel del sistema taquicin\u00e9rgico en el miometrio humano y en los miomas uterinos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Desde el a\u00f1o 2016 forma parte del grupo de Sistema de Liberaci\u00f3n de F\u00e1rmacos, abriendo una l\u00ednea de investigaci\u00f3n aplicada al tratamiento de los miomas. En esta l\u00ednea, ha desarrollado por primera vez el cultivo organot\u00edpico de miomas como plataforma precl\u00ednica para conocer de manera m\u00e1s real la biolog\u00eda de estos tumores y para ensayar diferentes nanomedicinas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">En total, ha participado en 9 proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n I+D competitivos, 4 de ellos como investigadora principal, 9 proyectos con administraciones locales y un proyecto con la empresa biofarmac\u00e9utica GEDEON RICHTER IBERICA. Ha sido coautora de 38 publicaciones revisadas por pares en revistas internacionales (JCR), un cap\u00edtulo de libro y un libro. Ha codirigido 3 tesis doctorales y posee 3 sexenios de investigaci\u00f3n, el \u00faltimo concedido en 2017.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Profesora Titular del \u00e1rea de Gen\u00e9tica del Departamento de Bioqu\u00edmica, Microbiolog\u00eda, Biolog\u00eda Celular y Gen\u00e9tica, donde imparte docencia en asignaturas del grado de Biolog\u00eda (Gen\u00e9tica Molecular y An\u00e1lisis Gen\u00e9tico) y Medicina (Gen\u00e9tica Humana). Docencia en segundo ciclo incluye la asignatura de Herramientas de Biolog\u00eda Molecular para la Investigaci\u00f3n y Diagn\u00f3stico de Enfermedades Tropicales dentro del M\u00e1ster Universitario en Investigaci\u00f3n y Diagn\u00f3stico de Enfermedades Tropicales.
