Doctora en Medicina por\u00a0 la ULL con la calificaci\u00f3n de sobresaliente cum laude (1990). M\u00e9dico especialista en Pediatr\u00eda (1980) con la Acreditaci\u00f3n en Medicina del Adolescente, por la Asociaci\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola de Pediatr\u00eda (2000). En la actualidad, imparte docencia en el Grado de Enfermer\u00eda y en el Master de Investigaci\u00f3n, Gesti\u00f3n y Calidad en Cuidados para la Salud, como Catedr\u00e1tica de Escuela Universitaria desde 1993, pasando al cuerpo de Profesores Titulares de Universidad en 2008.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">En la Universidad, ha desempe\u00f1ado cargos de gesti\u00f3n como Secretaria Acad\u00e9mica de la EU de Enfermer\u00eda y Fisioterapia de la ULL (1980-83 y 1992-94),\u00a0 Subdirectora de la EU Enfermer\u00eda y Fisioterapia (2012-14), Vicedecana en funciones de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud (2014-2015) y Coordinadora Internacional de Movilidad en el Grado de Enfermer\u00eda (curso 2019-20) y en Sociedades Cient\u00edficas, como Vocal de la Junta Directiva de la Asociaci\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola de Enfermer\u00eda Pedi\u00e1trica (desde 2014),\u00a0 Junta Directiva de la Sociedad Espa\u00f1ola de Investigaci\u00f3n en Nutrici\u00f3n y Alimentaci\u00f3n Pedi\u00e1trica (2010-2013) y Junta Directiva de la Asociaci\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola de Promoci\u00f3n y Apoyo a la Lactancia Materna (AELAMA), desde 2018. Ha sido Coordinadora del Comit\u00e9 de Lactancia Materna de la Asociaci\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola de Pediatr\u00eda (2011-2018).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Es experta de la ANEP para la evaluaci\u00f3n de proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n, desde 1998. Ha participado en numerosos Tribunales de Tesis Doctorales y de oposiciones a Cuerpos Docentes Universitarios y en Comit\u00e9s Cient\u00edficos y Organizadores de Congresos nacionales e internacionales.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Inici\u00f3 su trayectoria investigadora dentro del grupo de investigaci\u00f3n \u201cNutrici\u00f3n, Crecimiento y Desarrollo Infantil\u201d, donde ha desarrollado durante m\u00e1s de 30 a\u00f1os\u00a0 estudios sobre nutrici\u00f3n en la etapa perinatal y su relaci\u00f3n con los factores de crecimiento y sobre crecimiento y desarrollo, sexualidad y programas de intervenci\u00f3n educativa en adolescentes, por los que ha recibido varios premios nacionales de investigaci\u00f3n.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">En los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, su investigaci\u00f3n ha estado centrada en la lactancia materna, coordinando el Grupo de Investigaci\u00f3n de la ULL, \u201cLa Lactancia Materna desde un Enfoque Multidisciplinar\u201d. Tambi\u00e9n, ha coordinado el Grupo Espa\u00f1ol de Trabajo de la Global Breastfeeding Initiative de Excellence in Paediatrics (2012-15).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ha sido Coordinadora del Programa de Doctorado en Ciencias M\u00e9dicas de la ULL (2014-2017). Es Profesora Avalista de la l\u00ednea de investigaci\u00f3n \u201cSalud Materno-Infantil y Salud del Adolescente\u201d en el Programa de Doctorado en Ciencias de la Salud de la ULL (desde el 2014) e Investigadora Doctora participante en dicha l\u00ednea de investigaci\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ha dirigido 9 tesis doctorales y publicado 80 art\u00edculos en revistas cient\u00edficas indexadas. Autora o coautora de varios libros y de numerosos cap\u00edtulos de libros. Integrante de 17 proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n subvencionados, siendo investigadora principal en 11 de ellos.
