Desde esa fecha, ha pasado por varios nombres y etapas, hasta obtener su actual denominaci\u00f3n en 1913.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Su misi\u00f3n ha sido promover el desarrollo social, cultural y econ\u00f3mico de Canarias desde el conocimiento con la visi\u00f3n de ser una universidad de referencia en el contexto Atl\u00e1ntico por talento, experiencia de aprendizaje, investigaci\u00f3n y contribuci\u00f3n social.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Actualmente sus funciones son\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Impartir las ense\u00f1anzas correspondientes a las titulaciones de sus planes docentes.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Contribuir a la creaci\u00f3n y desarrollo del conocimiento a trav\u00e9s de la investigaci\u00f3n, la discusi\u00f3n, la reflexi\u00f3n y la cr\u00edtica.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Formar profesionales en los campos de las ciencias, las tecnolog\u00edas, las artes y las letras.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Difundir el conocimiento y facilitar el acceso a su acervo, especialmente de quienes encuentran mayores dificultades materiales para ello.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Inspirar el avance tecnol\u00f3gico orientado a mejorar las condiciones y calidad de vida del entorno social.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fomentar la defensa de los valores sociales y c\u00edvicos y, en particular, la libertad, igualdad, solidaridad, tolerancia y esp\u00edritu cr\u00edtico.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fomentar la calidad y excelencia de sus actividades, estableciendo sistemas de formaci\u00f3n, seguimiento y evaluaci\u00f3n.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Apoyar el desarrollo integral del Archipi\u00e9lago Canario.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Doscientos a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de su fundaci\u00f3n, la Universidad de La Laguna sigue siendo un referente en la comunidad canaria. Actualmente, esta instituci\u00f3n p\u00fablica est\u00e1 compuesta por m\u00e1s de 20.000 personas, entre alumnado, profesorado y personal de administraci\u00f3n y servicios.Su cat\u00e1logo de titulaciones abarca 45 Grados, 35 M\u00e1ster Oficial, 20 programas de Doctorado y 15 T\u00edtulos Propios.
