Licenciada y Doctora en Biolog\u00eda por la Universidad de la Laguna.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Su actividad Investigadora comenz\u00f3 con la obtenci\u00f3n del Grado de Licenciatura en 1980 en la Universidad de La Laguna (Tesina). Este trabajo, adem\u00e1s de la Tesis Doctoral,1987, fueron realizados en el \u00c1rea de Biolog\u00eda celular de la ULL dentro de la l\u00ednea de Investigaci\u00f3n de Neuroendocrinolog\u00eda, concretamente en la regulaci\u00f3n de la producci\u00f3n de hormonas por parte de las c\u00e9lulas de la gl\u00e1ndula hipofisaria.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Varias estancias postdoctorales en distintas Universidades francesas permitieron completar su formaci\u00f3n en el campo de la Neuroendocrinolog\u00eda e Inmunoqu\u00edmica. A partir de 2005 puso en marcha una segunda l\u00ednea de investigaci\u00f3n sobre la acci\u00f3n de hormonas y p\u00e9ptidos en c\u00e9lulas de leiomiomas uterinos, tumores de \u00fatero que afectan a m\u00e1s de la mitad de la poblaci\u00f3n femenina y que son dependientes de estr\u00f3genos. Esta investigaci\u00f3n est\u00e1 enfocada a la obtenci\u00f3n de un tratamiento espec\u00edfico para estos tumores.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Es autora de gran n\u00famero de publicaciones internacionales adem\u00e1s de haber asistido a numerosos Congresos Nacionales e Internacionales. Ha dirigido varias Tesis Doctorales, Trabajos fin de M\u00e1ster y numerosos Trabajos fin de Grado.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Ha participado en unos 20 Proyectos de Investigaci\u00f3n, como investigadora o Investigadora Principal, tanto Nacionales como Auton\u00f3micos o locales colaborando con distintos grupos de la ULL, as\u00ed como de otras universidades espa\u00f1olas y extranjeras. Tiene 4 sexenios de investigaci\u00f3n reconocidos por la CNEAI y es coordinadora del Grupo de Investigaci\u00f3n, P\u00e9ptidos y Se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n Celular de la Universidad de la Laguna.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Desde 1990 es profesora Titular de Biolog\u00eda Celular de la Universidad de La Laguna, impartiendo docencia en Licenciatura y Grado de Farmacia y Biolog\u00eda.
