Catedr\u00e1tico de Fisiolog\u00eda desde 2011, pertenece al Departamento de Ciencias M\u00e9dicas B\u00e1sicas y es miembro del Instituto Universitario de Tecnolog\u00edas M\u00e9dicas, en el que forma parte del grupo de investigaci\u00f3n <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201c<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fisiopatolog\u00eda de los mieralcorticoides<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201d. <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Su inter\u00e9s cient\u00edfico se centra en los mecanismos de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n de las hormonas esteroideas tanto a nivel perif\u00e9rico (sistema Endocrino) como central (sistema Nervioso).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ha participado en 40 proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n, financiados con fondos regionales, nacionales y\/o europeos, y es autor de 51 publicaciones cient\u00edficas (JCR), 46 de \u00e1mbito internacional y 5 nacional,\u00a0 y de 85 comunicaciones a congresos de \u00e1mbito nacional y\/o internacional. Es Director Acad\u00e9mico del Programa de Doctorado en Ciencias de la Salud por la ULL, Presidente de la Comisi\u00f3n de Rama de Ciencias de la Salud de la Agencia de Calidad Cient\u00edfica y Universitaria de Andaluc\u00eda y Director de la C\u00e1tedra Cultural Pedro Garc\u00eda Cabrera de la ULL.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Anteriormente, ejerci\u00f3 distintas funciones de gesti\u00f3n en la Universidad de La Laguna, como vicedecano de la Facultad de Farmacia, coordinador de Calidad en la Facultad de Farmacia coordinador del Plan de Acci\u00f3n Tutorial de la Facultad de Farmacia director Acad\u00e9mico de las titulaciones M\u00e1ster en Biomedicina, M\u00e1ster en Biotecnolog\u00eda y Doctorado en Ciencias Biom\u00e9dicas. Adem\u00e1s, fue reconocido en 2022 con el Premio a la Internacionalizaci\u00f3n de la ULL en 2022.
