Su trabajo se centra en entender c\u00f3mo los procesos epigen\u00e9ticos influyen en la programaci\u00f3n nutricional de especies acu\u00e1ticas, con el objetivo de optimizar la salud y el crecimiento de los peces en sistemas de acuicultura, promoviendo pr\u00e1cticas m\u00e1s sostenibles y respetuosas con el medio ambiente.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Rodr\u00edguez Barreto complet\u00f3 su doctorado en Biolog\u00eda en la ULL, donde desarroll\u00f3 una tesis enfocada en la nutrici\u00f3n de reproductores de la especie Seriola dumerili, un pez de gran importancia comercial en acuicultura. Durante su formaci\u00f3n postdoctoral, realiz\u00f3 estancias en la Universidad de Swansea, en el Reino Unido, donde ampli\u00f3 sus conocimientos trabajando en la epigen\u00e9tica y microbioma de especies clave para la acuicultura, como el salm\u00f3n y la tilapia. Entre 2015 y 2020, form\u00f3 parte del Departamento de Biosciences de Swansea University, contribuyendo a proyectos innovadores sobre los mecanismos epigen\u00e9ticos y su impacto en la salud y eficiencia de los peces.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">En 2023, su carrera alcanz\u00f3 un hito significativo al obtener una prestigiosa subvenci\u00f3n del Consejo Europeo de Investigaci\u00f3n (ERC) por 1,5 millones de euros para liderar el proyecto EPIAQUA. Este proyecto busca desentra\u00f1ar los mecanismos epigen\u00e9ticos que regulan la programaci\u00f3n nutricional en la acuicultura, con el fin de mejorar la sostenibilidad del sector mediante la reducci\u00f3n del uso de recursos pesqueros y la promoci\u00f3n de ingredientes alternativos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Adem\u00e1s de su labor investigadora, Deiene Rodr\u00edguez Barreto participa activamente en la docencia en la ULL, impartiendo asignaturas relacionadas con fisiolog\u00eda animal, acuicultura sostenible y procesos fisiol\u00f3gicos de animales marinos, tanto en los grados de Biolog\u00eda como en el M\u00e1ster Universitario en Biolog\u00eda Marina: Biodiversidad y Conservaci\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Su trabajo combina un enfoque multidisciplinar que integra la biolog\u00eda molecular, la fisiolog\u00eda y la nutrici\u00f3n, contribuyendo al avance de la acuicultura sostenible y al desarrollo de estrategias innovadoras para la alimentaci\u00f3n de especies acu\u00e1ticas.
