Su formaci\u00f3n acad\u00e9mica incluye una licenciatura en Biolog\u00eda, con especialidad en Biolog\u00eda Marina, y un doctorado en Biolog\u00eda por la misma instituci\u00f3n. Su tesis doctoral, titulada Evoluci\u00f3n de las poblaciones del erizo <em>Diadema<\/em> aff. <em>antillarum<\/em> en Canarias y valoraci\u00f3n de la depredaci\u00f3n como factor de control, fue dirigida por los doctores Alberto Brito Hern\u00e1ndez y Jos\u00e9 Carlos Hern\u00e1ndez P\u00e9rez y distinguida con el Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado de la Divisi\u00f3n Ciencias Experimentales y T\u00e9cnicas de la ULL.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A lo largo de su carrera ha desarrollado una destacada trayectoria en la investigaci\u00f3n de la ecolog\u00eda marina submareal e intermareal, con un enfoque particular en el funcionamiento de los ecosistemas bent\u00f3nicos. Su trabajo se ha centrado en comprender las interacciones biol\u00f3gicas y ecol\u00f3gicas que determinan la estructura y din\u00e1mica de las poblaciones, as\u00ed como el funcionamiento de los ecosistemas en los h\u00e1bitats marinos costeros. Ha investigado los impactos directos e indirectos de las principales perturbaciones antropog\u00e9nicas en comunidades bent\u00f3nicas rocosas, identificando especies clave y evaluando sus respuestas a diferentes fuentes de estr\u00e9s. Adem\u00e1s, ha estudiado c\u00f3mo estos efectos ecol\u00f3gicos se extienden en cascada a lo largo de toda la comunidad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Ha publicado m\u00e1s de 80 contribuciones cient\u00edficas, incluyendo art\u00edculos en revistas indexadas, cap\u00edtulos de libros e informes cient\u00edficos. Su producci\u00f3n acad\u00e9mica abarca temas como la biodiversidad marina de Canarias, las interacciones tr\u00f3ficas y el funcionamiento de los ecosistemas marinos locales, el cambio clim\u00e1tico y sus efectos sobre los ecosistemas bent\u00f3nicos, y la gesti\u00f3n de \u00e1reas marinas protegidas.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">En el \u00e1mbito docente, imparte asignaturas en los grados de Biolog\u00eda y Ciencias Ambientales, as\u00ed como en el M\u00e1ster Universitario en Biolog\u00eda Marina: Biodiversidad y Conservaci\u00f3n.
