En junio de 1993 se Licencia en Ciencias Qu\u00edmicas, especialidad Industrial, por la Universidad de La Laguna (ULL) y recibe el Premio Extraordinario de Licenciatura de la Facultad de Qu\u00edmica. Becaria predoctoral del Ministerio de Educaci\u00f3n y Ciencia entre 1995-1998, se doctor\u00f3 en Ciencias Qu\u00edmicas por la ULL en 1998, con la Tesis Doctoral \u201cMicrofiltraci\u00f3n tangencial de agua residual depurada. Mejora del flujo de permeado por inyecci\u00f3n de gas\u201d codirigida por los profesores Delgado de la ULL y Elmaleh de la Universit\u00e9 Montpellier II. Recibi\u00f3 el Premio a la mejor tesis de la Facultad de Qu\u00edmica de la Universidad de La Laguna (Curso 1999\/2000) y el Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado en la Divisi\u00f3n de Ciencias Experimentales y T\u00e9cnicas de la Universidad de La Laguna (Curso 1998\/99).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Entre 2002-2011, desarroll\u00f3 su actividad profesional principal en el Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico de Canarias (ITC), empresa dedicada a I+D+i adscrita al Gobierno de Canarias, primero como T\u00e9cnico de Proyectos en el Departamento de Agua de la Divisi\u00f3n de I+D+i (2002-2007) y posteriormente, como Jefa de Secci\u00f3n de dicho departamento (2007-2009). En diciembre de 2009 pas\u00f3 a ocupar la Jefatura del Departamento de Fomento de la Investigaci\u00f3n Cient\u00edfica y el Desarrollo Tecnol\u00f3gico en el ITC hasta diciembre de 2011, fecha en que solicit\u00f3 excedencia en dicha empresa p\u00fablica.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">En 2003 se incorpor\u00f3 como Profesora Asociada a Tiempo Parcial en el Departamento de Ingenier\u00eda Qu\u00edmica y Tecnolog\u00eda Farmac\u00e9utica de la Universidad de La Laguna. En 2011 accedi\u00f3 a una plaza de Profesora Ayudante Doctor y en 2016 a Profesora Contratada Doctor Tipo1. Desde julio de 2018 es Profesora Titular de Universidad. Durante este per\u00edodo ha desarrollado su actividad docente en asignaturas adscritas al \u00e1rea de Ingenier\u00eda Qu\u00edmica de la ULL en diversas titulaciones (Ingeniero Qu\u00edmico, Grado de Ingenier\u00eda Qu\u00edmica Industrial, Programa de Doctorado de Qu\u00edmica e Ingenier\u00eda Qu\u00edmica, M\u00e1ster Universitario de Ingenier\u00eda Qu\u00edmica, Ingenier\u00eda Industrial, Energ\u00edas Renovables y Formaci\u00f3n de Profesorado, etc.).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Tiene reconocidos 3 sexenios de investigaci\u00f3n por la CNEAI y ha sido investigadora principal de 4 proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n del Plan Nacional y 3 proyectos de Investigaci\u00f3n financiados por la Fundaci\u00f3n CajaCanarias. Adem\u00e1s, ha participado como investigadora en m\u00e1s de 20 proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n nacionales y europeos. Es co-autora de m\u00e1s de 40 art\u00edculos en revistas de impacto, 14 cap\u00edtulos de libro y m\u00e1s de 60 comunicaciones a congresos y conferencias especializadas, y coordinadora de 3 libros.
