Por el sabor podemos saber si algo es \u00e1cido, lo contrario de \u00e1cido es alcalino o b\u00e1sico. El pH tiene una escala que va desde el 1 al 14, en el medio estar\u00eda el pH 7 que ser\u00eda pH neutro; todo lo que sea menor de 7 (7 a 1) es \u00e1cido y lo que sea mayor de 7 (7 a 14) es b\u00e1sico. Existen sustancias que pueden cambiar de color en funci\u00f3n al pH que se denominan indicadores de pH. Existen muchos tipos de indicadores, pero en este caso, se utilizar\u00e1 un indicador hecho con col lombarda. Este indicador cambia de color en funci\u00f3n al grado de acidez o basicidad. Para hacerlo en casa solo se tiene que hervir la col en agua, filtrarlo y el l\u00edquido resultante es el indicador. Se preparan una serie de sustancias para comprobar su pH (lim\u00f3n, amon\u00edaco, lej\u00eda, agua y vinagre).
