Cartel del concierto de Cali FernándezSinger Cali Fernández will perform an acoustic concert tomorrow, Saturday, March 18th, at 8:00 PM in the Paraninfo of the University of La Laguna, where she will present her latest album, "Argéntea." Tickets are still available on the platform. Tomaticket at a price of 10 euros, although retirees, students and the unemployed receive a discount of 2 euros on that amount.

“Argéntea” is characterized by its unique acoustic approach, rarely seen on stage. The performer uses some of the most iconic songs of Argentine folklore and singer-songwriter traditions to offer the audience an intimate and moving concert. The music has profoundly influenced the cultural landscape of the Canary Islands, thanks to composers such as Gustavo Leguizamón, Tejada Gómez, Atahualpa Yupanqui, Jaime Dávalos, Pablo del Cerro, and Eduardo Falú, among others. Cali Fernández will be accompanied by piano and guitar and will be joined by several distinguished guest musicians for some of the compositions.

Fernández's musical beginnings are linked to the University of La Laguna, where he was a member of the University Choir and the University Folkloric Group. His training in opera is also noteworthy, having worked with the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, composer Luís Cobiella, and various musicians such as Pompeyo Pérez and Juana Peñalver. His albums "Piélago," from 1999, which featured collaborations with prominent Canarian artists, and "Romanciando," released in 1993 with Venezuelan singer Cecilia Todd, which compiled a selection of traditional Canarian and Venezuelan ballads, are particularly noteworthy.
