The Paraninfo of the University of La Laguna will host a flamenco guitar concert tomorrow, Saturday, June 17th, at 8:30 pm, performed by Juan Miguel Castellano, with percussion accompaniment by Manuel Ruiz. Tickets can be purchased for 10 euros at Tomaticket.
With a diverse musical background and experience in a wide range of musical projects, Juan Miguel Castellano's debut album, 'Donde habita la verdad' (Where Truth Dwells), features a series of his own compositions. Rooted in flamenco but also incorporating other influences, with classical guitar being the most prominent, this recording project has been brought to life through a live performance in both solo and duo formats, accompanied by percussion.
Juan Miguel Castellano began his musical career playing the timple, though he soon turned to the guitar, which he taught himself. He studied at the Rafael Orozco Higher Conservatory of Music in Córdoba, where he earned his degree as a flamenco guitarist. There, he had the opportunity to train with renowned teachers such as Luis Medina, Gabriel Expósito, Manolo Franco, and David Carmona, among others.
Currently, he is part of the guitar duo Temple, and also performs solo guitar recitals. In addition, he participates in music recordings for dance performances, theater, and audiovisual projects, including film and television, and has contributed two pieces to the Sky TV series "A Town Called Malice.".
