The ULL welcomes its future students “with open doors and arms” at the start of its information sessions

Tuesday January 16, 2024 - 13:58 CET

For four days, starting today, Tuesday, January 16, the Guajara Classroom Building will host secondary school students from all over the Canary Islands who will attend the Open House Days to receive information about the degrees they can access after passing the EBAU (University Access Exam) and about admission to the university, among other things. The Vice-Rector for Students, Rosario Hernández Borges, attended the information session about the Nursing Degree to welcome the students. “With these sessions, the University of La Laguna welcomes you with open arms, so that you have all the information you need to make the best decision when choosing your studies.”.

The sessions are structured around a series of informational talks about each of the 47 degrees offered by the University of La Laguna, scheduled so that each student can attend four. As the Vice-Rector explained, the added value of the sessions lies in the fact that the lectures are given by the faculty of each degree program, providing detailed, firsthand information that would not be available through other means. Therefore, Rosario Hernández encouraged the students in attendance to take advantage of the opportunity to ask any questions they may have.

During these days, the institution's Information and Guidance Service has set up an information desk in the César Manrique General Lecture Hall to answer questions from visiting students. In addition to questions related to the organization of the event, such as the location and schedule of the talks, the most frequent questions concern degree program cut-off scores, the weighting of subjects in different fields of study, registration for the University Entrance Exams (EBAU), available scholarships and accommodation, and also what access routes exist for entering a degree program if the required entry score has not been achieved, among other things.

It is expected that over 7,000 students from schools across the region will visit the Guajara Campus during the four-day Open Days. Therefore, each day

The Vice-Rector for Students gave the welcome address at one of the talks given today.
