The ULL and the Canarian Academy of Language strengthen their collaborative ties

Thursday February 20, 2025 - 09:49 CET

The Rector of the University of La Laguna, Francisco García, and the President of the Canarian Academy of Language, Humberto Hernández, signed a collaboration agreement yesterday, February 19th, between their two institutions. This agreement will strengthen the collaboration they already maintain in several initiatives, thanks to the affiliation of many faculty members of the academic institution with the scientific and philological organization. This agreement establishes an administrative framework that will allow them to further this cooperation and propose new projects.

The agreement establishes the main lines of action in which both entities can collaborate, and stipulates that each action stemming from this protocol must have a specific agreement detailing its terms. Thus, the University of La Laguna will grant the academy access to its facilities and the use of its digital research resources, and will promote the cultural, academic, and research activities of the philological institution. For its part, the academy will also reciprocate by promoting university activities and will donate a copy of each of its publications to university libraries.

The agreement is valid for four years and does not specify any financial compensation for either party. Given that this collaboration will result in scientific projects and publications, the agreement specifically details the confidentiality conditions that must be observed and stipulates the intellectual property and access rights for the exploitation of these research results.

The document signed yesterday also designates the person responsible for each party who will oversee the development and execution of the projects arising from this agreement, which in the case of the University of La Laguna will be its Vice-Rector for Culture and University Extension, Isabel León, and in the case of the Canarian Academy of Language, Humberto Hernández himself.
