The Pieles company and the Canarian Percussion School offer a charity concert in the Paraninfo

The company Skins and the Canarian Percussion School have jointly organized the 5th Solidarity Concert of the Heart, The event will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, June 25th, at 8:30 p.m. in the Paraninfo of the University of La Laguna. All proceeds will go to the association. Compassionate at Heart to fund development projects in Senegal. Both groups have brought their students together to celebrate the end of their musical training courses, aiming to fill the Paraninfo stage and the audience with the rhythm of drums, chácaras, and other instruments. In addition, the 2025 Corazón Solidario (Solidarity Heart) awards will be presented during the evening. These awards, created by the association of the same name, recognize individuals and organizations that have distinguished themselves through their humanitarian commitment and collaboration with its various projects.

Pieles is a cutting-edge company inspired by Canarian folklore and also drawing on traditional expressions from around the world. It is an innovative project with significant ethnographic and anthropological value, fostering connections between diverse cultures to create a pluralistic sound that is both Canarian and universal. Pieles recreates the popular sound of music through a novel experience, in which the most primitive folkloric resources—stone, glass, wood, and metal—are combined with classical instruments.

The Canarian Percussion School bases its teaching on a methodology centered on group and experiential learning. It is open to all adults with artistic interests who wish to develop their musical skills through percussion, and no prior musical knowledge is required. This project stems from Laboratorio Escénico, a production and creation platform that designs and creates interdisciplinary shows in the fields of performing arts and music, directed by multidisciplinary artist Jonatán Rodríguez and stage director and playwright Oswaldo Bordón.
