Its aim is to attract younger audiences to symphonic music. The strategy involves programming one-hour concerts with top-tier conductors and featuring hosts from the worlds of podcasting, comedy, and contemporary music, to better connect the works with the audience.
Program
The Tenerife Symphony Orchestra will perform two works inspired by Hungarian tradition. In “Hungaria” (1854), Franz Liszt evokes the rhapsodic and free character of folk music, while Zoltán Kodály’s “Dances of Galánta” (1933), one of his most celebrated scores, recreates the spirit of folklore through writing rich in color and rhythmic contrasts.
The direction will be in the hands of Ariane Matiakh, current principal conductor of the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen, whose career combines a wide stylistic versatility with intense activity in the international symphonic and operatic field.
