The members of the Board of Directors of the Institutional Chair for Research and Innovation in Hearing Impairment and Accessibility recently participated in a training session on "Accessible Documents: An Introduction to Digital Accessibility," organized by the Island Society for the Promotion of People with Disabilities (SINPROMI). The training was presented by Ms. Virginia González Rosquete, head of the Social Technological Innovation Unit and also a member of the Chair's joint committee.
The training was given by Mr. Carlos Alonso Segura, designer of accessible digital resources from the Social Technological Innovation Area of SINPROMI, who offered attendees an introduction to the principles and best practices in the creation of accessible digital documents.
This initiative reinforces the Chair's commitment to promoting universal accessibility, fostering the full inclusion of people with hearing disabilities in educational, professional, and social environments. Furthermore, the collaboration with SINPROMI aligns with the shared objective of promoting technological innovation aimed at improving the quality of life for people with disabilities.
The training day is part of a broader strategy that promotes the development of digital accessibility skills among the professionals and collaborators of the Chair, consolidating its role as a reference agent in research and innovation in this field.
