It does this by highlighting the achievements and contributions of women in research and technology, particularly those of researchers at the University of La Laguna. To achieve this, the project includes a program of inspirational talks and science workshops led by young female scientists.

The program begins on the island of Fuerteventura, with two school interventions at the IES Santo Tomás de Aquino and Colegio Sagrado Corazón schools. At the former, students in 4th year ESO A and B will have the opportunity to attend a talk given by the researcher. Beatriz Rodríguez Galdón, A graduate in food science and technology and a PhD in biology from the University of La Laguna, she will share her experience and knowledge in this presentation, aiming to motivate students to pursue scientific and biological careers. She will draw on her episode of the program "Todas con Cienci@ULL" to illustrate her points.

Following the talk, around 60 students will receive a practical workshop led by the doctoral candidate. Katherine Garcia Livia, A researcher at the Laboratory of Parasitic Fauna and Zoonoses at the University of La Laguna, will lead this workshop. It will focus on pathogens in our environment that can affect both wild and domestic animals, with particular attention to those found in the Canary Islands. This educational activity aims to raise awareness among young people about the risks and importance of research into diseases that can be transmitted between animals and humans.

Sacred Heart School will be the next stop on the project's agenda, where a total of 90 students from the 3rd and 4th years of ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education) will participate in the activities. Researcher Beatriz Rodríguez Galdón will repeat her presentation, offering her talk to the students, who will then participate in a workshop on the conservation of sea turtles in the Canary Islands, led by the researcher. Claudia Hurtado Pampín, A graduate in Biology and specializing in Marine Biology: Biodiversity and Conservation at the University of La Laguna, the workshop aims to raise awareness among students about the importance of protecting sea turtles, a keystone species in the marine ecosystems of the Canary Islands archipelago.

La Gomera

Next week, the project will move to CEO Nereida Díaz Abreu in San Sebastián de La Gomera.
