This is one of the conclusions of an article<\/a> recently published in the magazine International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management<\/em>, prepared at the University of La Laguna by Jos\u00e9 M. Ramos Henr\u00edquez<\/a>, from the Department of Business Management and Economic History and Sandra Morini Marrero<\/a>, From the Department of Economics, Accounting and Finance. This groundbreaking study examining Airbnb patterns reveals a significant shift in the platform's user base, with digital nomads and remote workers becoming key players in the long-term rental market.<\/p>\n Using the methodology of Structural Topic Model<\/em>, The research team analyzed user review data from Airbnb in cities such as Lisbon (Portugal) and Austin (USA), collected during 2022 and early 2023, focusing on those that mentioned remote work and length of stay. The findings reveal the moderating role of length of stay and city in these users' experiences, highlighting the diverse needs of remote workers who stay for longer periods (more than four weeks) and those who opt for shorter stays.<\/p>\n This is how they detected the greater engagement of long-term guests with the neighborhood where they stay.
