It is part of the program of the 23rd Tenerife International Comics and Illustration Fair and includes 32 reproductions of this work in which Gonz\u00e1lez addresses the drama of migration through a real-life case.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition was inaugurated this Tuesday, October 27th at 10:00 by the dean of the faculty, Dulce Mar\u00eda Cair\u00f3s; the vice dean of Academic and Student Affairs of the center, Sergio Siverio; the CEO of the Canary Institute of Cultural Development (ICDC), Guillermo Mart\u00ednez; the president of the Cine+Comics Foundation, Francisco Pomares; the head of Special Projects of this cultural entity, Patricio Ducha, and Eduardo Gonz\u00e1lez himself.<\/p>\n<p>Cair\u00f3s praised how the exhibition aligns with the faculty&#039;s objectives and the message it wishes to convey to its students. &quot;This exhibition is very appropriate for our students, who need to be aware of human rights, especially those of vulnerable people,&quot; she stated. Siverio added that the exhibition also serves as a reminder of the work done at the Faculty, specifically through the INFORMA Project, which provides legal advice to migrants under the direction of Professor Elena S\u00e1nchez Jord\u00e1n.<\/p>\n<p>During the opening, Pomares and Gonz\u00e1lez explained what Solo Seis is about and where it came from. Like the author&#039;s recent comics, this work is part of the Los archivos de la Fundaci\u00f3n collection, published by Ediciones Idea and the Foundation, and is an adaptation of a book. In this case, by <em>Ebony Heroes<\/em>, which includes several chronicles by journalist Juan Manuel Pardellas about the arrival of a boat of migrants to the Canary Islands coast in the early 2000s. Of the eighteen people on board, only six managed to survive, hence the title of Gonz\u00e1lez&#039;s comic.<\/p>\n<p>Visually, the work stands out for its use of red to represent the sea as &quot;a terrifying space,&quot; as the author stated. In fact, when the journey begins, the water is practically colorless, and after the first death, it turns red, symbolizing blood and death.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the harshness of the plot, as Gonz\u00e1lez pointed out, &quot;the ending is hopeful,&quot; since Salimata Sangare, the protagonist, manages to survive and rebuild her life, something that the CEO of the ICDC, Guillermo Mart\u00ednez, also highlighted.<\/p>\n<p>Following this opening, the exhibition will be open to the public free of charge at the Faculty of Law until November 30th.
