A total of 36 schools in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife participated in the classroom workshops held as part of the tenth edition of the educational, cooperative, and solidarity project \u201cTeaching to Be an Entrepreneur\u201d (EPE). The initiative was implemented by the University Employment Agency of the General Foundation of the University of La Laguna and funded by the Canary Islands Employment Service, an agency of the Canary Islands Government's Ministry of Economy, Knowledge, and Employment, with the collaboration of the Ministry of Education, Universities, Culture, and Sports.<\/p>\n
The main objective of the EPE project is the creation and management of a school cooperative. Participating students simulate the creation and management of one of these economic organizations, in which products or services are manufactured and later sold at a School Cooperative Fair.<\/p>\n
This tenth edition includes students from preschool through high school, including students in special education classrooms and those in basic vocational training. Approximately 1,020 of the 1,800 students enrolled in the project have benefited from a total of 70 workshops held between January and March in classrooms throughout the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, led by the technical staff of the Teaching for Entrepreneurship program at the General Foundation of the University of La Laguna.<\/p>\n
These visits covered the five workshops related to entrepreneurial culture, cooperative principles, and teamwork among the participating students. The creation of cooperatives in each school was discussed, including the necessary documentation, materials, potential products or services, and the project structure.<\/p>\n
Following the sessions, participating students have been provided with the tools and resources necessary for the proper organization of the project, including explanatory videos, teaching guides, and worksheets, all accessible through the Virtual Campus of the General Foundation of the University of La Laguna. They have also been informed about deadlines, the sales permit process, the School Cooperative Fair, and the solidarity event that concludes the project, called \u201cLiquidate and Share.\u201d.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
