On Sunday, December 3, the proposed solutions developed by students from the University of La Laguna, participants in the project, were presented at the Casa de Piedra in the municipality of Garachico. Remote Villages ULL<\/a> to the challenges posed by said municipality.<\/p>\n

Among the challenges identified in the municipality, three proposals stood out. The first was how to control the flow of visitors, thus avoiding overcrowding in Garachico's historic center; the second was how to promote the well-being and better interaction with the local population; and finally, how to integrate the neighborhoods in the upper part of town.<\/p>\n

Among the more than 45 students from the University of La Laguna who applied to participate in this project, these ten were selected: Omayra Herrera Palma, from the Degree in Law, Kevin \u00c1lvarez M\u00e9ndez from the Degree in Art History, Eros L\u00f3pez Su\u00e1rez from the Degree in Geography and Territorial Planning, Mar P\u00e9rez Garc\u00eda from the Degree in Philosophy, Gabriel Acosta Jim\u00e9nez from the Degree in Spanish, Language and Literature, Mar\u00eda Samara Ascanio Castro from the Master in Regional Development, Gara Mar\u00eda Rodr\u00edguez Luis from the Degree in Sociology, Izan Izquierdo Moreno from the Degree in Francophone Studies, Sara Rodr\u00edguez Socas from the Degree in Philosophy and Lucas Romero Borrajeros, from the Degree in Environmental Sciences.<\/p>\n

The presentation was attended by, on behalf of the University, the Rector of the University of La Laguna, Francisco Javier Garc\u00eda Rodr\u00edguez, the Director of the Secretariat of Internships and Employability of the Vice-Rectorate of Students, In\u00e9s Ruiz, and on behalf of the City Council, the Mayor of Garachico, Jos\u00e9 Heriberto Gonz\u00e1lez Rodr\u00edguez, the Councillor for Social Welfare, Education, Equality, Diversity, Youth and Childhood, Mar\u00eda Candelaria P\u00e9rez Gonz\u00e1lez and the Councillor for Festivals and Culture, Andr\u00e9s David Hern\u00e1ndez M\u00e9ndez.<\/p>\n

This project has been promoted by the University of La Laguna, through its Vice-Rectorate for Students, financed by Banco Santander, and developed by the company Remote Villages, SL.<\/a><\/p>\n
